How to Set Up an Android TV Box for Persian TV in the UK

Setting up an Android TV box takes about ten minutes, and you do not need any technical knowledge. This guide walks through each step, from unboxing to your first programme. It works for most Android TV boxes, including the box we post to customers across the UK.

What you need

Before you start, check that you have these things: a TV with a free HDMI socket, a nearby power socket, your home Wi-Fi name and password, and the login details for your Persian TV subscription. If you ordered from Persivo, the box is set up before it ships, so most of the work is already done.

Step 1: Plug in the box

Connect the HDMI cable from the box to a free HDMI socket on your TV. Then plug the power adapter into the box and into the wall. Put the batteries in the remote control if they are not already fitted.

Step 2: Choose the right TV input

Turn on your TV and press the Input or Source button on your TV remote. Choose the HDMI number that matches the socket you used, for example HDMI 2. After a few seconds you should see the box start up. If you see a blank screen, try another HDMI input and check that the cable is pushed in fully.

Step 3: Connect to your Wi-Fi

Choose your home Wi-Fi network from the list, then enter the password using the remote. Passwords are case sensitive, so check capital letters carefully. If the box does not find your network, move the router closer or restart it. Our guide on setup help has more tips.

Step 4: Open the app and sign in

Open the Persian TV app from the home screen and enter your login details. Take care to type the username and password exactly as supplied, because mistakes with similar-looking letters and numbers are the most common reason a login fails. Once you are signed in, choose a channel and start watching.

Step 5: Check the picture and sound

If the picture is not sharp, open the box settings and look for the display or resolution option. Choose the resolution that matches your TV. If there is no sound, check the volume on both the box remote and your TV, and make sure the TV is not muted.

Common problems and quick fixes

The picture keeps buffering

Buffering usually means a weak Wi-Fi signal or a busy network. Move the router closer to the TV, pause other downloads, or restart both the router and the box.

The remote does not respond

Replace the batteries and point the remote directly at the box. If the remote still does not work, unplug the box for ten seconds and plug it back in.

The app asks me to sign in again

Re-enter your login details carefully. If you still cannot sign in, email support@persivo.tv and we will help.
